There are probably ways to route MIDI to and from Mixcraft, probably requiring a MIDI interface, I honestly don't know. The difference as I see it is a lack of a default link to the DAW. Just now I opened it just to have a look. Like I wrote in my previous reply, I have never used the stand alone version. Others program them in via the piano roll, and some use the MIDI from either the EZD libraries, or third party libraries. Some people record them while playing them in via a MIDI device. It also might help to know a little about how you are, or wish to create drum tracks. Are you a drummer, which is why you like Superior Drummer? Thanks for following the forum and helping newbies!Īre you trying to move an existing MIDI track from the stand alone version of EZD into Mixcraft, or are you asking how we use EZD as a plug in? I've been a guitar player for nearly 50 years so it's clear where my skills are (not drums!). Also, I didn't go with superior drummer because it seemed like I'd be spending more time "tweaking" every sound possibility than doing music. If you're willing to expand on what you do, I'd appreciate that and will give it a shot.

I'm running Windows 10 and 64 bit for Mixcraft and EZD2. Obviously I'm missing something and it seems like everyone is using it as a plug in and likes that approach. I have 2 EZD screens in this case - the stand alone one I am working in and the plugin which doesn't have my song parts. But if I'm working on a song in EZD as a stand alone program, with it open, when I do what I just said, none of the midi parts I am using show up. I'm probably doing something wrong, but I can go in Mixcraft and select VSTI and EZD and then select "Edit" which brings EZD up as a plugin (I think).

Hi Pierre - I guess I don't quite get how to effectively use EZD as a plugin. Still too little known.īut yes, primarily I either use EZD as an plug in instrument and write drum MIDI via the Mixcraft piano roll, or if I choose to use the MIDI from the EZD library as a starting point, I drag it into Mixcraft's track view.ĮZD's arranger lane has some neat functions, but one thing I always found, is it lacks space to work. I am guessing there is something being processed differently along the way. And yeah, the one thing I could think of is stand alone mode, as I have never once even opened EZD in stand alone.īut that doesn't fully explain it. Well when I pondered your description, I had to ask myself what you must be doing differently than me, because I have never had this issue. I did look at how to do that, but I don't Quite get that. Are you implying you use EZD as a plugin? Maybe that would solve this issue. I have EZD open and work on some drum parts and I have MIxcraft open and drag or import the midi files into it.
